The real problem is how contagious it is. At first they though the contagion rate (R0) was 6 per person (meaning one sick guy on average infects 6 people). I've read a study that said that the R0 rate might even be up to 25. So 70% of the people get infected in a year is not unrealistic. That's why we are taking this so seriously.

Ebola had a 90% death rate but was barely able to spread.

SARS had a 10% death rate but only spread slowly.

This one is bad because it spreads fast and still kills at least 1%. So Trump's plans are maniacal. People will die and the economy might STILL go to s*** because no one wants to go outside or go to work or spend money when an Italy level event happens and people ages 40 and up start dropping like flies.

And it really depends on ICU capacity. US true death rate and SK's true death rate might be totally different
