if you're talking about education credits, it's less getting money and moreso a reduction on taxes. however, if you get enough credits, you can go so far to not spend any taxes in that year, and if credits go past 0, any remaining credit goes to your refund.

if you don't file as a dependent or have someone claim you, (most) people are ineligible for them.

if you're talking about TrumpBucks, it's less likely that dependents are going to get any sort of check, but I'm not a tax lawyer so
