They'll be quiet when it directly affects them. Just like AIDS, the crack epidemic, etc. It's always about the Other until it's you.

The next month is going to be one of the scariest periods in American history. Most of us will get through it fine, and I'm glad to live in an area that has been taking social distancing very seriously, but some metro areas will not look the same when this is all over.

One of my favorite songwriters John Prine had to be intubated because of COVID-19 and it's not looking good 😔 the first musician I really love to have a critical case and it's hitting me hard.

Caroline Polachek got it too but is just five years older than me and bounced back no problem.

    Wtf Caroline had it??

WW3 is not happening soon. Both countries are out of commission for the next year unless all hell breaks loose. Also we depend on each other a bit too much for that

right wingers on twitter/facebook are starting to drive around hospitals and film it showing theres "nothing to see" and how they still think the virus is a media hoax.

The Inova campus he went to is massive

I've been to it, that's one small corner of the hospital. Kinda makes sense for non essential personal to not visit. Hundreds of visitors/caretakers/etc normally visit on a daily basis, it's not a mystery why people are currently avoiding it.

If you show up in the ER they often move you to another part of the hospital to get looked at after taking vitals. It's just how hospitals work

Yeah, a couple weeks ago. It was on her IG story. She's fine now though.

There will always be idiots and fools. Do not confuse the more civilized technology they use with how civilized their character is.

As hard as it is to believe. Things were much much worse in the past.
