Slimane asked me a question and I answered him cause I know the guy, this ain't a f***ing press conference I'm not gonna be getting questions from the entire thread and answering them. I said, if you wanna know then do the research and make up your mind however you want.
I'll just say you should do more research on China, and when I say research, don't type BBC next to it. The true research.
Yeah I do those and China is stil complete trash.
Let's be blunt here. Are you defending China in spite of their concentration camps and organ harvest? Are you defending them despite openly supporting and even promoting technology theft that is then used in watered down Chinese versions? Do you support how they do anything to save face which can come at the cost of its own citizen and economy? How about the espionage? Once again, it's been proven that China spies even on foreign countries using it's National tech companies like Tiktok and Huawei which are funded by the CCP after all.

Reading more into it, it seems like a lot of the data out there about young people being hospitalized is being interpreted through a different/inappropriate lens.
When we first started discussing COVID-19, the focus was on CFR because, of course, we all wanted to know how deadly the thing was. With that result in mind, people aged 0-30 were seemingly unaffected. If you look at the current data, the CFR is still very, very low for that age range, around 0.1-0.2%. This is the same across most countries, including the US.
However, the new focus is on hospitalizations and ICU visits because countries want to determine the resources they will have to assemble at their peak. Age impacts hospitalization rates less, though milder cases do tend to congregate at lower age ranges.
The problem is that the narrative was formed by using one set of data (CFR) and now it's being challenged with a different set of data (hospitalizations). This is illogical and leads to a lot of confusion and fear, even suggesting that the virus is somehow more potent. Young people can still get very sick, but the numbers don't back up a media narrative that young people are all dying from this suddenly.
An interesting interview about this:
