Really startling numbers in Cali right now. The reason the death total is increasing sharply is that coronavirus spread to our nursing homes and they don't report at anywhere near the rate that hospitals do. Our officials are having to work backwards to find past cases and deaths and report them.

This is why "new" cases and deaths are increasing while hospitalization rates are stable or dropping. Many of these cases have, unfortunately, been resolved by the time they are reported. New CDC regulations require that anything presumed to be a COVID-19 death also be added to the case total if they weren't already diagnosed.

Whats with this whole second wave thing that people are talking about, if a second wave is coming then china/italy would already be showing signs of it.
