It's hard to look at this and not see the effects of any of these 3 possibilities:

1) the virus has mutated in a way that made it more communicable but less dangerous to the general population

2) medical interventions are becoming more targeted and effective

3) testing expansion has led to a higher percentage of mild cases and fewer deaths

because Illinois is one of the most affected states at the moment lmao

One thing about the serious and critical cases. This s*** isn't even really accurate. Only some EU contries and the US are delivering accurate and new numbers every day.

Yes, there are parallels for sure and thats good, but in some countries there will be more critical cases than we think. Mexico, Brazil and Russia haven't reported new critical cases numbers in days and all three of them will have more. How can it be that Mexico had its new peak with 257 deaths today, when they are said to have only 378 critical cases?
