This the worst part tbh. If ppl were actually following the stay home order I'd be down to stay locked down to save lives. But what's the point of the s*** keeps spreading and the economy is tanking?
imo there were too many half-measures during the first wave of lockdowns. The amount of businesses deemed essential that stayed open was ridiculous and resulted in a ton of people still having to work. Many of those businesses still lost money despite layoffs and changing the way they operated. Also forcing people to work resulted in many people not taking the pandemic seriously. It helped push the “I’m going to get corona eventually anyway, so I’ll just do whatever I want” mentality.
I think had there be a complete lockdown for 3 weeks the situation we’re in now could’ve been prevented and this would’ve felt more like a pause rather than a hard restart. Mishandled on all levels because of greed.

We had over 27,000 cases yesterday. We are definitely not doing it "much better" right now, even if it has dropped slightly at the moment. At least we're not over 30,000 cases anymore.
