got overshadowed by the protests. we might see another resurgence if/when a second wave hits

Things are kind of in a holding pattern right now. No new huge surges like Brazil in the States but no significant signs of improvement outside of the slowly dipping death totals.

I'm still spending way too much time on researching this s*** and with California turning into the new media whipping boy because we're not improving fast enough and now choosing to reopen, it's probably in the best interest of my anxiety and blood pressure to make myself scarce in this thread for a while.

If I find anything especially noteworthy I'll be sure to pass it along, but there really isn't much new to talk about. I get why people would rather be discussing the protests instead right now.

Threads dead since protests. Thread was losing traction even before that

    Never?

Sounds at first very negative, but yeah. A first wave is only over when a country has only a few hundred active cases left. First of all, this is impossible at the moment because our country is still getting 20,000 new cases a day and the death rate is still at 1,000 daily.

Many other countries are currently experiencing an outbreak and many countries have already reopened. I personally don't think it will improve worldwide. Small countries like New Zealand will win at this run. Large countries with big economies and large populations will have a hard time.

If we are honest, the virus will still be there if there is ever a vaccine. Many people won't get vaccinated, because they don't want to. You get the virus far too easy and it's already too widespread. Treatments will be more important here in the long run.
