How long do deaths lag? I thought it was like 2 weeks but i don’t see any trends increasing yet
The death rate isn’t that bad tbh. It’s just contagious as s*** & very deadly for old people around 70 or so.
I haven’t seen an increase at all in death rate even with numbers skyrocketing. Part of that is higher testing volume of course, but still sketchy if we get to the point where we overloading hospitals.
My friend works at a hospital and so far so good on their end, but he’s concerned the next month could be a s***show if this rate continues.

death rates didn't start jumping until many hospitals in NY started to get overcrowded.
I think doctors are starting to learn how to handle this virus better but still a lot to learn

For sure. But even before it was in America people thought the death rate was 4%. Luckily it’s nowhere near that.
You right

Feel bad for all the parents with kids working from home not knowing if school will be opening
S***s tough especially for single moms
If this virus’ impact isn’t leading the way and opening many eyes on how much more needs to be funded into mental health and self care, then I don’t know what will

We should have an island fully funded by the govt called “ okay whatever you say” it’s a mini island replica of America. Since these angry Karen’s & Todd’s don’t do much traveling, they will never know it isn’t America.
Florida, you are about rip through the south.... & Alaska
Just found out a bar I’ve been at several times the last week had an employee test positive.
Now I’m hitting up all these girls I went on dates with to get tested
Could be worse

Oxford vaccine is going to be the one. Should be ready by October/November which is good timing. US already ordered 300 million doses iirc

I doubt the vaccine will be readily available by then.
You have to produce that many, who gets it first? How much does it cost? Where do we get one? Everything isn’t going to be hunky dory as soon as a vaccine is good to go.

That’s not the problem
The problem is if we reopen and continue to reopen, then younger people risk catching the virus which puts older people and people with underlying conditions at risk.
Don’t lockdown for yourself, lockdown because you care about not infecting those most at risk
Do yall really believe the protests weren't a big part of the spike again? Weren't they having us in the lock down to begin with to avoid gathering in large crowds?

i think everyone generally thought the protests were gonna bring the cases up but it took a while for that to be true which was weird.

Had to wait 14 days to find out of they had it probably

They're literally already producing it now.
"The company has committed to mass-producing the vaccine before it has been proved effective, an unusual step designed to compress the long timeline of vaccine production."

The protests were a spark and reopening everything made the environment like chaff.
