We ain't going outside until a reliable, safe & effective vaccine is released.

In the meantime, should I plan on getting a PS5 or Xbox whatever the f*** it is? Gotta get ready for #hermitszn

Numbers should start to trend down in the US in August with increased compliance to mask wearing. Let’s just hope these fools don’t start not feeling the need to wear one the minute the cases start to drop.

hard to wrap your head around this number really. just imagine how many people you'd see on an avg day. if you take out school, you might see less than 50 maybe, and thats including a run to the store. without that...20? maybe?

this is several times that amount. just gone. s***s crazy

If there is anything good coming from a lot of people getting this virus now, by the time Thanksgiving or Christmas comes, numbers should be going down since once you get covid and recover, you won't get it again. I think that's amazing news, since a lot of people are getting it now, at some point there are gonna be less and less people available for the virus to spread to.

I'm so happy about this vaccine tho cuz I really wanna go back to school. If I just get to spend my second semester senior year on campus I'll be so grateful

thats definitely an absolute. in fact it seems to be more and more popular that at best, we have months of immunity. there's people who've tested after 3 months and found out that their antibody count is so low, they would be considered susceptible to get it again. and obviously, some people have gotten it again. but perhaps having some antibodies would give you a better defense than someone with absolutely none

    Interesting study on immunity length:

    https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.18.20156810v1

"After peaking, IgM levels declined with an estimated average half-life of 10.36 days, which was more rapid than those of IgA (51.25 days) and IgG (177.39 days). Based on these half-life data, we estimate that the median times for IgM, IgA and IgG to become seronegative are 4.59 (IQR 4.12-5.03), 7.78 (IQR 6.71-9.16) and 42.72 (IQR 33.75-47.96) months post disease onset. ... This study suggests that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces robust neutralizing and binding antibody responses in patients and that humoral immunity against SARS-CoV-2 acquired by infection may persist for a relatively long time."

Now, how do we reconcile this with stories about people getting sick again in a matter of months, sometimes far sicker than the first time? False positives? Exceptions to the rule?

if a vaccine can get us say, a year and a half of defense, and we can eliminate this from virtually all humans in america, that would have us pretty well off

We should be able to tranquilize people & then put them in a containment facility like ghostbusters . Because it is too many people to talk sense into. 😳
