Ok I’m down with the idea of taking a vaccine. But my question is when should I get one? Cause I’ve heard (this idea was from a video only a couple months in the pandemic so it might be outdated) that getting in a rush to get the vaccine could be f***ed.

Get it as soon as it's available to you. Actually people waiting to take it could allow more s*** like that UK variant to develop and mess with the process. The more people get the vaccine in a short timeframe, the less covid there is, until it eventually isn't a threat
