One thing I want to point out is that aggressive testing has led to uncovering more MILD cases, not severe ones. Not testing and accurately reporting has led to superficially higher mortality rates and worse care in countries like Iran.
Look at South Korea, who has been aggressively testing for weeks. The mortality rate is 0.5% there because they're uncovering mild but contagious cases that don't require hospitalization. When you're only counting people who need to be admitted to the hospital, no s*** the CFR is going to be higher.
The reality is that coronavirus has been going through the US for weeks now and you may have had it already. Word now is that it may have been in the PNW 6 weeks ago or more. When you see numbers skyrocket this week, it's not necessarily because it's spreading any more than it has been. In fact, we could be in the middle of it now. Because our testing practices have been so insufficient, it's impossible to tell.
There was a flu going around my wife's office a couple weeks ago and now she's wondering what that was. I had really tender glands in my neck last week and mild chest irritation out of nowhere and that resolved on its own. What was that? Probably not coronavirus but because we don't know anything it's impossible to rule out.
NGL I might have it. Had a cough and slight runny nose for about 5 days, and my chess has had mild aching but other than that Im ok. Plus I live in Seattle, and Northwest has been pretty vulnerable. Though if I don't have it and I get it shortly after, basically IM F***ED
Nope,.its about 2.5% bud
The right stat is recovered vs deaths. So it stays at 6% right now. Numbers are wrong anyway tho. I checked and beijing had 411 cases, and thats over couple of months. Over 20million people there lol.. no way theres only 411 cases
Just spent $300 on unperishable stuff for the next month. March is gonna be baaaaad in this country, but coronaviruses do historically slow down in the summer. We'll probably get a break for a few months before things get scary again in October.

Sure, you might have it. But you know what's good? You know what's up and can get help if you need it. A lot of people have no idea wtf is going on and they're running around being sick spreading it to everybody and not getting medical care. You'll be fine.
Bruh i just heard temple reelin in all those people in italy and im hella shook

Saw the s*** on the news
no like i feel high reading your post

I don’t even think Florida is releasing data on this s*** (probably because of tourism) :)
coronavirus scared to pull up to florida
were gonna be fine, but lets work together to not spread this s*** further, for the elderly and people with health issues
also if this s*** is gonna prevent me from seeing frank ocean at coachella imma beat somebody ass
Should really stop negatively fearmongering s***posting so much. Our words have power, so let’s use them wisely
I think you guys will get a lot out of this article, it's helpful af
"Researchers currently think that between five and 40 coronavirus cases in 1,000 will result in death, with a best guess of nine in 1,000 or about 1%.
On Sunday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the UK government's "very best assessment" was that the mortality rate was "2% or, likely, lower".
But it depends on a range of factors: your age, s***and general health and the health system you are in.
How hard is it to work out the death rate?
It is PhD-level hard. Even counting cases is tricky.
Most cases of most viruses will go uncounted because people tend not to visit the doctor with mild symptoms.
The different death rates we are seeing reported around the world are unlikely to be due to different versions of the virus.
According to research by Imperial College , it's because different countries are better or worse at spotting the milder, harder to count cases.
So under-reporting cases makes it easy to overestimate the death rate. But you can also get it wrong in the other direction.
It takes time before an infection results in recovery or death.
If you include all cases that haven't yet had a chance to run their course, you will underestimate the death rate because you are missing the cases that will end in death later.
Coronavirus: All you need to know
A visual guide to the outbreak
Scientists combine individual pieces of evidence about each of these questions to build a picture of the death rate.
For example, they estimate the proportion of cases with mild symptoms from small, defined groups of people who are monitored very tightly, like people on repatriated flights.
But slightly different answers from those pieces of evidence will add up to big changes in the overall picture.
If you just use data from Hubei, where the death rate has been much higher than elsewhere in China, then the overall death rate will look much worse.
So scientists give a range as well as a best current estimate.
But even that doesn't tell the full story because there is no single death rate."
(potentially) confirmed in FL. neighboring county to me as well. they better shut my office down
