I mean the US is notorious for mishandling s*** like this but in no way shape or form will 80% of the US get infected. Not in 2020.
They said the same thing about the bird flu and swine flu and look how that turned out.Besides, all of the notable scientists in that field have said that if you dont contain it and it spreads to at least 60% of the world, nature will create anti bodies itself so that the virus won't spread no more.
So 80% is just fear mongering fam.
the issue here is that the true mortality rate isn't 7%, if everyone was tested like in South Korea that % would be much lower (yet still significant)
it's not outlandish to suggest 80% of the population will be exposed to the virus, tho that number can be lessened dramatically if people stop being idiots. 2 people in SK who had coronavirus and didn't isolate were the cause of 80% of the country's total cases.
