The whole country is f***ed, it’s so upsetting. The numbers might be worse than Italy’s, God forbid it doesn’t but it’s actually looking that way. F*** Boris and Tories

It's inevitable, we'll surpass those numbers sooner than later.

    Utter shambles.

Anyone from Australia, that can tell me about how this virus is effecting your country? My family lives in Australia right now, and it worries me how poorly the government is treating this virus as no-big deal, as they told me...

Billions being poured into businesses while people are forced to go to work still, private schools closed but public all open, music festivals and sport events cancelled mostly . The most the government has done for it's working citizens is suggest to stay away from crowds but done nothing to assist it

it's a train wreck waiting to happen

I’m in it. What are your views?

I mean, there is way too much to explain.

First your statement on kids only using school for a free meal.

That is a horrible statement to make. I have known many kids who only get to eat during school. Those two meals are imperative to their survival.

You've got kids and their families moving from place to place, floor to floor. I have known kids living in hotels because they can't go anywhere else. School is a place for some of them to gain some type of emotional clarity. To escape the trauma for just a little bit/

If you were put in the position where you needed that food to survive, is that using your resources or using the school?

Your second statement is tricky. School isn't for kids anymore. Kids have no say. School hasn't changed. The entire public education system needs to be drastically changed.

We shouldn't have standardized testing. It is the worst measure of a kid.

We should be taking care of kids who have trauma and life needs. Social workers and school counselors are EXTREMELY outnumbered. We need licensed mental health specialists in ALL schools. Studies show that you can't learn if you are in freeze-faint, fight/flight mode. Trauma reshapes your brain.

States need to actually do something for communities that have failing schools. Like how about we rebuild these communities, provide opportunities, and actually work together to do so? Instead of gentrifying these communities, let's meet the needs. Let's heal the communities.

Kids should be getting opportunity to learn about the real world, not some dumbass questions about stuff that has no relevance to their life. Kids shouldn't have to be scolded by a power-hungry individual that doesn't care about the whole kid.

I can keep going if you'd like...

Everything you said is perfect. And I could’ve reworded my statement to make it seem like less of an attack

Do you think things will ever change? Will education ever get the money it needs.
