Absolutely any nation would do their best to localize the outbreak before broadcasting the news internationally. Perhaps it would only take Germany a week to realize their error instead of many weeks, but the point still stands. It is in a countries economic interest to try and localize and contain disasters like this before oh idk mass cancelling all flights and raising panic and quarantining entire cities. I'm saying that it MAKES SENSE how China initially handled it, I'm NOT SAYING that it was a good, right, or smart thing to do. Are we incapable of having a nuanced discussion like that?
