I know people love that album but for me it's always been the only Weeknd album i couldn't get into
it’s not anywhere near kiss land in terms of quality imo. AH is good, like a strong 6/light 7. KissLand is a strong 9.
Two totally different albums both amazing experiences. I don't know what you're trying to do comparing the two. You have your preference
He was talking his s*** on kissland, as they say he was in his bag

You really had to be there before the super-stardom
Even now reflecting back, it’s still an incredible album. It aged a lot better than most of Trilogy tbh.

Idk man i personally prefer his more mainstream sound i guess
if anything it's easier than ever to recover from a flop in today's climate since all it really takes is a song blowing up on social media to regain your hype. people said dababy was finished bc everyone hated blame it on baby and it sold less than kirk, but he got a seven week #1 song off that album.
that’s literally not even exclusive to the streaming era lmao

i said it was easier, not that it's exclusive to this era.
No. He was disappointed it didnt do as well commercially as he and the label expected but he acknowledged in 2016 that his fans think it's his best album and at the time he said it's the only album he would ever do a sequel to so you wrong chief. He also performed it in Asia in 2018
No. It got lukewarm reception from the critics. Its literally an extension of trilogy
idk how anyone is saying kiss land was a flop, it was his debut and he didnt have any real mainstream success until often and earned it anyway

The album's singles peaked low, the album itself didn't sell well throughout the year, the critics hated it, the fans were polarized, and it was enough for him to go to his A&R to help him go pop great album but anyway you look at it was a flop.
