How isn't he a writer though? He makes a lot of catchy hooks and knows how to rap over any beat which is a skill in itself. Don't think anyone expects dense lyrics from him, there's other rappers for that.

A couple of his hooks aren’t bad I’ll give him that, he is able to be somewhat catchy

And his one flow works on most of his beats so he has that going for him

I just have high expectations, if your sound is really inspiring and adventurous I expect the lyrics to follow suit in some way.

Doesn’t make his music trash or anything, it’s just good to decent to me. It’s just weird that someone could have such adventurous taste in production but such bland, generic sensibilities as a writer. But it’s whatever. Besides the mix this is probably like a 7
