Why's it so cringe that they say carry that weight?
That's obviously a callback to the OG, why niggas crying about it
At one point, Faye takes out an entire room of dudes while shouting “Welcome to the ouch, motherfuckers!” That’s the level we’re working with here.
Netflix should have never been allowed to touch this.
Tbh it all boils down to the creative team. Netflix has the money to make (at the very least) a competent adaptation happen. It's all about getting the right ppl involved.

I agree. I think some people are gonna hate on it no matter what they do. Going by the trailers I'm digging their take on it.

i no this gonna be blasphemy on here, but i liked the first episode
Some of it looks kind of cheap as far as effects n stuff like that but I'm digging it too so far watched the first two episodes...actors that play Spike, Faye, and Jet do a great job with those characters

Yeah I agree with what u said. The acting is very well done. Also it’s worth pointing out I’ve never seen the anime so my perspective is a bit different than most ppl who will watch it.
Thru 5 eps and still f***ing with it
I mean it got good reviews, idk why people expected it to be bad lol 🤷🏿♂️. Anime and manga can be translated on screen depending on the story. This story doesn’t have some outlandish powers

reviews actuallybeen mid down to 41% on RT which is pretty bad for a new tv show

I thought critics were praising it in early reviews🤔. I didn’t see the RT score

Some things just dont translate well from anime to live action

overall score isn't great however most of the critics I usually go to for their write ups gave it positive reviews so I wasn't too worried

Lots of anime fan salt too I'd imagine

I think if the entire show were a shot by shot remake of the original anime it'd be even more disappointing because at times when they directly recreate a scene from the anime it does look a little hokey or like they're doing a parody performance...whereas the more original scenes seem to feel more natural to the actors where they can sort of explore things a bit more...I like how they dive a bit more into Spike's backstory in this version and his relationship with Jet

Right. The action/banter with the main three looks good but the more outlandish anime stuff more often than not is just annoying when it's real people.
