Netflix really weren’t the right people to do Bebop. The cinematography looks as cheap as possible and while there was a a tiny bit of cheesiness in the OG, that was super overpowered by the cool factor and film noir styling. This is just full blown cheese and the characters look like they’re in a p*** parody. They clearly have no idea what made Bebop great and I love John Cho but he never has had and never will have the juice like that to be f***ing Spike Spiegel.

Live action anime could be great if Japanese directors and casts made them without trying to “modernize” them for western sensibilities. Just give them the Netflix money and market the hell out of it and even if it’s another language American’s will still watch it.
