my favorite part is the outlets that's choosing to review a clearly unfinished and publicly unreleased album just making themselves look goofy

This is the type of Kanye stan that makes me cringe. Expects everyone to praise everything Kanye does. Can’t imagine any alternative opinions having any merit. Defends an album that was released as “unfinished” as above criticism.

you're the type of "poster" that is #bad

Ye really been doing this unfinished s*** to death. I love Ye but he’s truly one of the only musical acts that can get away with releasing something unfinished to the fans. I can’t imagine the backlash if any other rapper did that. Imagine if Drake released CLB and he was mumbling on Champagne Poetry

Drake never made a College Dropout, a Late Registration or a MBDTF. He's just rapping and crooning over a list of beats and calling it an album.

Kanye made all those exceptional albums so why not hold him to that standard? At least give fans a finished product

I don’t really mind the “thinking out loud”/unfinished album being released process, as long as it actually gets finished

He’s done it that way already, he’s now trying something new; showing the fans his creative process. The willingness to experiment and break new ground without fear of failure is what made him make those exceptional albums.

Where the f*** IS Donda 2

  • Finally read this. Good piece, besides the little section about his come up as "speaking to the everyman" and his current political stances lol idk if that part was necessary.

Hastily reworked albums and promising songs left on the cutting-room floor hurt the dependability of an artist whose catalogue once challenged the greatest in hip-hop. We used to hear stories of legendary sessions where West, taskmaster and perfectionist, pushed collaborators to greatness they hadn’t believed possible and matched their achievements with his own. Now, we pay to play his demos.

It can’t be easy navigating bipolar disorder in the middle of a high-profile celebrity divorce when your private mental health has been the subject of much intense speculation. But it is unfair to try to pin his flaws on a diagnosis while attributing his triumphs to business acumen. It demonizes mental illness by implying that irritable behavior like targeted internet harassment is merely a natural manifestation of the disorder and not a choice made in agency.

poignant points. about to skim thru the thread and see what y'all thought about this

Frfr, why would you go in depth writing about a clearly unfinished album.

Except this is like the 3rd or 4th album he’s done this s*** lol at what point does it become an excuse for just not being on point musically anymore and being able to come up with actual lines and finished concepts lol

Everything wack Ye has done since 2016 has been justified with “he can’t keep doing the same s***” meanwhile in real time this weird limbo phase he’s been in since Pablo/those concert meltdowns is the longest he’s ever been doing the same s***. Only change he’s added is now he’s Christian a few days a week lol

What’s crazy is if collectively fans held him to that 2000’s standard we’d still probably be getting new sonic/aesthetic eras every other year lol

Instead his fanbase is filled with people who started f***ing with him heavy 2013-2016 lmao

Kanye doesn’t care man. Even if his fans got together, & held him to that standard, Kanye would still do what he wants at the end of the day. Idk why y’all think the fans hold so much power especially when it comes to Kanye
