both films were shot by the god Robby Müller

put some of his other films one your watch list if you liked the look. 'To Live and Die in LA' and 'The American Friend' both have beautiful color cinematography by Robby Müller.

Paris, Texas, Repo Man and To Live and Die in LA, all some of my faves for very different reasons

Love Friedkin, dude had a pretty incredible run starting with The French Connection.

need more Sturges The Lady Eve prime contender for restoration

More Sturges gotta be coming, especially since almost his whole filmog has recently been restored on blu over the past year.

But I swore that it was confirmed a few months ago that Lady Eve was gonna be one of the next titles to get upgraded for some reason

They still have Unfaithfully Yours available on dvd too, so im hoping that one gets upgraded cause i havent seen it yet

Bellocchio's closet picks were underwhelming for me haha i was expecting him to choose more films that haven't been given canon-status

But im really hoping him visiting is a hint at Criterion releasing another film of his soon...and not just cause of the recent Fists in the Pocket upgrade

theres a few silent and early talkie comedians that look interesting and need restoration.. Harry Langdon and Laurel & Hardie especially. Marx Brothers set would be epic.

NEON and Criterion are feeling the #Bonghive love this week. Not only did the distributor win big at the Oscars on Sunday, thanks to Bong Joon Ho’s incredible wins for “Parasite,” but now we get word that NEON will release a special edition of that film, plus another Bong-directed classic, as part of the Criterion Collection.

According to NEON, Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” and his 2003 crime drama, “Memories of Murder” will both be hitting the Criterion Collection with special edition releases. The films join “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” as recent NEON acquisitions that will be quickly joining the esteemed collection. No word on exact release dates or what the special editions might include, but Criterion has yet to let us down previously, so we fully expect that the new releases will be jam-packed with extras, as well as the best possible video and sound quality, all staples of a Collection release.
