What short did u see? Maybe that could help me get in the mood for the film more and also explore his filmog further

What starts off as a conventional travelogue turns into a satirical portrait of the town of Nice on the French Côte d’Azur, especially its wealthy inhabitants.

I only seen that one from him and it was a wild ride. Was so psyche to see him in that list too, this scene broke my heart

Taxi and 3 Faces are both really good as well. 3 Faces is available rn on the channel I think. With Not a film he's stuck in his house, then in Taxi he's physically out and about the city but filming strictly from inside a taxi, and in 3 Faces he's filming freely around rural Iran. It's awesome seeing him stretch his boundaries with every new film.
Just signed up for the free trial and my god, there are so many movies/directors I have never heard about before
crazy

Concept for Taxi sounds nuts. I trust if anyone would make the most of these circumstances it'd be him lol.
Watched the 20fps cut of The Passion of Joan of Arc.

There’s no definite answer as to who he is but I think he’s some sort of existential onlooker. He makes an appearance in most if not all 10 films. I think he’s supposed to represent some kind of judgement figure seeing all of these people’s lives and the decisions they make
There’s some great a***ysis and speculation as to who he is and what his purpose in the series represents in the criterion box set essays

thanks!
The onlooker role makes sense because of the timing of his appearances

Daisies only has a DVD from Criterion but it has a BD from Second Run which is good quality. Valerie is amazing, wish they’d do more Czechoslovakian classics although most already got remastered from the film institute over there. Come and See Blu Ray gonna be insane can’t wait for that, the cover is abysmal though
