I’m from the camp that believes that MOTM3 was actually a pretty good album (although not touching the first 2).

And the Travis Scott narrative is blown out of proportion. There’s only 3 tracks on the album that have any sort of Trav influence.

Some people just wanna watch the world burn.

y’all act like cudi should be making the same music he did his entire life

he’s making his own take on the style of music that developed directly from him and they’re pretty damn good songs that show cudi in this newer style while still retaining the degree of authenticity that makes you know that he’s still the king of this music

The production + vocals are literally the classic MOTM sound mixed in with 2020. It’s definitely influenced by trap and loud 808s, but dismissing all of it as Travis Scott lite shows you listened to the album maybe once and then wrote it off.

And the psychedelic aesthetic? You know who was doing that when Trav was Kanye lite before he made his main gimmick? KID CUDI.

They think an artist having influence is always a good thing and they’d rather die than admit Travis did a good thing
