listening to this i think cudi lost the desire to really rap after the WZRD album. dude had a really nice flow and clever bars

He said so much himself…he got it back when indicud came out. I know some ppl don’t like the beats on there much but it genuinely has some of his best songwriting and bars.
Glad this is finally on streaming . My little sister is getting into cudi and wants to me make a playlist of all the essential cudi songs n I didn’t wanna leave anything off of this!!
tbh even as a YE fan some niggas on here kidding themselves if they thought Cudi wouldn't have blown up anyway.
this nigga just had it in him
I don’t think cudi ever truly had more commercial appeal tho. Drake was huge the second he made best I ever had. Cudi was never making that type of radio music. He popped off cuz no one else sounded like him when he dropped. Not cuz his music was mainstream darling material.
day n nite was about as big as best i ever had. cudi was gearing up for his album when sfg dropped so that was really the window cudi had. drake was big but he was also super divisive
Never been more proud of a city I never lived in or been to than in Cleveland is the Reason
100% I always am in awe of how many legends were in the making all at one time. Truly my favorite time (and for my money) the best time in music ever
yeah everybody had their own style and flavor. from mainstream to super underground there was a ton of cool artists for everyone there wasn’t like 3-5 different styles there was an endless amount. even had people like asher roth that were cool
Cleveland is the reason might be the best of Cudi just rapping his thing. Brings me back to those cold early mornings

Asher low key a really dope rapper tbh sad he basically got blackballed
cudi was a fly ass dude and made emotional music but could also rap his ass off. drake pulled out his phone on hot 97. i think in like 09 cudi prolly had a bigger fanbase
"Memories"

Ya but cudi was never a formulaic artist like Drake and that was pretty obvious from the beginning. Drake had that down from his early mixtape days. He was too experimental to be bigger.
