episode out why is this thread not popping

I'm watching tomorrow. It'll still be there

  • Feb 5, 2024

Decent episode but I was looking forward to finding out what the theme of this season would be

JB Smoove was firing on all cylinders tonight though. 4.0 APA

Man I thought Larry knocked it out of the park for the most part. Election year theme from the looks of it. 3.5/5 rating

  • Feb 5, 2024

Didn’t realize this was starting already. Was too busy hate watching the new TD

  • Feb 5, 2024

Yeah I love Larry/Curb, buts ever since it returned a few ago, its jumped the shark.

The scenes/interactions no longer feel organic. Everything feels forced and way more scripted.

The charm of Curb has always been that it dropped you into real life situations where Larry is oblivious to everyone else. Now it feels like he's a caricature of himself. He's flanderized.

Even the way the show is shot is different. It used to feel like a documentary, like you were an onlooker to the conversation. Now it looks like a regular show.

Yeah everyone is way to in on their own joke and caricature. The second I saw Susie Essman’s outfit in her first scene at the table I turned the whole thing off

Yeah like the Siri joke was way over the top

    Leon is a caricature

It just feels way too polished

The season opener wasn’t the best but it was fine. Looking forward to the rest

I thought for sure the Siri joke was a set up that was going to come back around. Like he’d be yelling at Siri and calling her a c*** and someone would think he was committing domestic abuse on a real person.

Agreed. And I havent even seen the new episode.

Its a shame why this happens to American shows. The Office US did the same thing a few seasons in. Everyone becomes a caricature of their characters.
