That’s what y’all have been doing all week
oh my god, f*** off
Drake's predecessor Eminem made at least 4 protest songs in his prime that can easily be added to these playlists if he was black. But current Hiphop star Drake doesn't have a single song or Dare I say a bar that resonate with the mood of youth rn. Why???
Why does he need to? He shouldn't have to. He didn't even need to publicly speak on it, but celebrities are doing it to spread love and awareness about the situation to their global audience. I haven't heard about Drake protesting or anything, but he gave his respects and donated a large sum of money without a second thought.
That's the same thing as when a celebrity dies: do the people that knew that celebrity need to cry and scream all over social media to show their pain or carry it? No.
To suddenly do so doesn't add anything to the bevy of "protest songs" that exist. It's unnecessary. Just because Eminem does it doesn't mean every non-black rapper needs to. Em did it because he wanted to. Let people show their support in their own ways.

?
All week drake stans been on here on some “why hasn’t _ tweeted” “where is ”
I think drake is partially right in not saying stuff like that in his songs. He would instantly get attacked. even just for flexing "started from the bottom" he got a whole wave of people saying "you were on Degrassi, you grew up in the suburbs, what do you know about the struggle?" Now imagine that amplified on a much larger level bc a half white Canadian who's seen as having coasted through life (which I feel is completely untrue) trying to talk about police brutality or race relations.
Well rappers before him had to face worse criticism than that. And I just remembered he called out Kendrick subliminally by saying something like "I will have more fans if I did conscious s***" all he did later was bubblegum rap 'Gods Plan'
You can't say things that you can't backup specially in this genre
He raised money for the community that's great man ,I'm not going against his personality this ain't a Pusha T thread
"i don't make music for dusty guys, i just don't do it, if you aint a freshman in highschool with nice eyelashes I don't even know why u listening to drake"
ironic you make up some fake corny quote as a joke but meanwhile the guy you bow down to hasn’t said a single thing

No s***, everyone was getting at Drake for it and they were basically saying keep that same energy with other artists
it’s not his lane, if drake started dropping protest anthems now it would be corny
its better than him tryna make tik tok anthems at 35

Tbh I'm not even saying he can't make those type of songs problem is he don't wanna make.

Bullshit. Y’all are Hypocrites. Cause I remember before Drake made a statement y’all was saying he’s not political, he’s not American, etc. now he made his statement and y’all clowns saw it as a opportunity to tear down other artists for not tweeting
