Get a feel for the core gameplay loop, story and mission structure, world building ect. Bugs and stuff can be fixed eventually, poor game design and bad mechanics won't.

I remember getting a glitch about 2/3rds the way through Witcher 3 which meant my Geralt had a tiny hammer permanently wedged between his feet. Would quite like to avoid that this time around.
