Need to be on a random sidequest and see Ciri hopping through portals
i could see it happening. that would be super dope
Looks like CDPR went full Naughty Dog
Holy s***
Game better be the greatest thing ever made after overworking all these people for 16 HOURS PER DAY
Looks like CDPR went full Naughty Dog
F*** CDPR
F*** CDPR
Same sort of thing was said about Naughty Dog, Bungie, BioWare and Rockstar, so CDPR isn’t necessarily an anomaly, but yeah, the “we swear to never partake in crunch culture again” statement was clearly bullshit.
Hopefully the game doesn’t end up being a total mess, could you imagine?
If’d be devastating, and would absolutely rock the f*** out of CDPR.

idk about this one, jason schreier is a total grifter
poland labor laws prevent "non stop crunch since may 2019"
"16 hours per day since june 2019" is also total bullshit and super illegal in poland
taking this entire thing with a grain of salt

Jason is a reputable game journalist though. He’s the one who wrote the expose about BioWare, ND and Rockstar and those were all verified.
Also, CDPR is literally a cultural touchstone, economic cornerstone, and act as international representatives of Poland, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the Polish government gave them a pass, or turned a blind eye (in fact, I think they’ve even been given government funding for development in the past).
Another hypothetical scenario is possibly making the extra hours appear “voluntary” in order to skate around such laws, either through pressure or manipulation.

I think the only way possible to get around the laws is to hire all the devs as "contractors" and not employees. I really doubt they have most of the devs signed on as contractors to get around labor laws.
I also don't think the "crunch announcement" that got leaked would have been leaked if they were crunching since mid 2019, since nothing would have changed
In the end, hopefully this isn't true and it's not as bad as this comment says
Man, Cyberpunk is one of those games that if it manages to get under a 90 on Metacritic, CDPR will end up getting straight crucified, especially with these crunch stories.
This s*** better be firing on all cylinders and succeeding for the most part, because the knives are gonna be out with this one.
And if it ends up being a hot mess, oh man, we’ll probably be looking at a Mass Effect Andromeda/Anthem/Fallout 76 level backlash and loss of faith.
Doubly so since The Witcher 3 is the only GOTY/GOTG contender CDPR has released up until this point, so this game is really the test to see if CDPR can hang with the premier studios (i.e. Rockstar and Naughty Dog).
Also, since the game comes out in a little over a month, I assume review copies will be sent out within the next couple of weeks.
I think when the review embargo lifts should be a pretty strong indicator of how it turned out. If it lifts like a week ahead of release then it’s probably nailed it.
This gonna be free on Steam?
Nah, this ain’t a online game. They talked about multiplayer down the road but it’s a story driven game by the studio behind the Witcher games
