    Witcher 3 multiplayer???? Lmao

    Multiplayer on their new games

Tbf CP77 was supposed to have multiplayer like 6 months after launch. It's even in the credits

Wonder if they’re gonna try to do the life path thing again or go for more of a predefined character a la Geralt.

They would be breaking the cyberpunk formula if they didn't make it a life path thing. Hopefully they'll put effort into making it a true RPG this time

I feel like they’ll need to scale down pretty dramatically in terms of scope to accomplish what they initially envisioned the original game to be.

    It just doesn’t seem feasible.

Wouldn't expect to see this sequel for another 10 years if they're smart, new witcher in 2 or 3 years give or take. then depends if the new ip is ahead of this

Possible they can upgrade staff and all with the next witcher, but game needs to launch with singleplayer and multiplayer for sure.

I think with more time and UE5 (or whatever engine is relevant at the time) they can make what we all imagined cp77 to be. Keep in mind this is easily 10+ years out

    WAITING ON SILENT

    right??

The story is dope but I’ve spent like a week just driving around and upgrading weapons/outfits while doing gigs

One of the quest givers calling and saying there’s something in a club or warehouse & breaking in and doing the mission

  • Oct 4, 2022

I do think it’s kinda goofy how many people are saying this because of the anime

I loved the game at launch but no one can deny we didn't get the game we were promised. It's still good but fell short in many places. I think most of the hate was from old gen players who had valid reasons to complain

there’s over 1000 employees now and they’re growing, and since the first one is made they can reuse assets. I bet we’ll get it around 2028-ish.

All the ideas that didn’t make it in the first they’ll use for the second probably, and most importantly they’re using UE5 instead of building their own engine which really cuts down on dev time

It took 9+ years for cyberpunk 2077 in total. While they don't have to build onto their own engine, they have 3 full length Witcher games in the way. I really doubt it will be done in less than 10 years

Big part of the extended wait time with 2077 was that it was rebooted multiple times.

Hopefully that won’t be the case with the next one.

Only 1 of the 3 Witcher games are being developed by cd themselves btw, and cd is big enough that they probably have 500 ppl on Witcher 4 and 500 ppl on cyberpunk expansion and after that the sequel

Using ue5 won’t just cut down on dev time from not having to build their own engine, it’ll also make it easier to grow the team with artists familiar with ue

  • Oct 5, 2022

If the expansion is really put out in 2023 and not delayed, I bet there will only be a 5-6 year wait for the sequel, based on their team size, switch to ue5, and leftover ideas and assets from cyber 2077

Didn't realize the 2 other Witcher games were produced by third parties. Sounds like a disaster but that's another post

With that considered I could see it coming out in 6 years

Ive been having fun since 1.6, but I went back and watched that first gameplay reveal... they promised an entirely different game lmao
