another kendrick thread that will get 50+ pages?
The rap bops on morale nicer too me. But damn got love and loyalty. Humble still slaps. But N95 AND silent hill are very current
but to stay on topic it's difficult for me to choose, it seems like damn and mr morale are like sides of the same coin

Well this one is strictly about the music. Not s***posting or a***ytics. Just which album you prefer musically and why.
Liking Mr. Morale more.
Wasn't too big on the lead singles on DAMN and I prefer the deep cuts on MMTBS.

That’s cool
I’m remaining pretty much as unbiased as possible in this thread.

I feel this for sure, kinda like DAMN. Pt 2 (on the first half at least) without dumbing anything down or trying to appeal as much as DAMN.

mr morale is the new NATION
mr morale is the new NATION
Disc 3 soon come
DAMN is such a perfect mainstream rap album imo
Perfect blend of bangers and introspective songs
From a replay value and no skip perspective, DAMN
From a body of work perspective, Mr. Morale

Yeah, Mr. Morale is the logical conclusion to the themes on Damn in a very powerful way

I disagree strongly. Some of the bangers on here have a DAMN feel to them, but this album overall feels closer to TPAB then DAMN.
But quality wise, DAMN and Mr. Morale are close then Mr. Morale and TPAB. TPAB would annihilate that thread.
I been listening to Kendrick since section 80 and one thing I’ve learned is everybody (especially the ones that don’t like the music out the gate) ends up appreciating and liking the music a lot down the line.
As far as the question goes it honestly just depends on how I’m feeling, they are pretty close imo as far as enjoyment
Mr. Morale for sure
But DAMN had better cover art and FEAR might be his best song

Yes

That’s true. A lot of the people voting for DAMN would not have gone to bat for it 5 years ago.
Mr. Morale for sure

Fear
Better than die hard and purple hearts
Maybe Purple Hearts but not Die Hard. Die Hard a chune.
damn is a grillion times better just for duckworth and fear alone none of morale has a song that level

I felt the heart V was closer to TPAB lyrically and obviously production wise. I definitely hear both TPAB and DAMN on this tho so I agree with you and UFO. MMBS feels like an attempt to blend the banger esque ness of DAMN. and the lyrical deep writing of TPAB.
Still feel like I haven’t heard MMBS enough to fully have an opinion on where it stands in his disco and I’ve had it on repeat since it came out lol
(side note: was hoping for more 70’s samples like THV on this was a lil disappointed)
