That Celibate song was so raw. I like that he’s using his normal voice a lot, it makes the album feel genuinely sad. I can see what he meant by this is a winter album. I hope this music is the same thing he will release. I like the low tempo heavy percussion vibe this thing has.
Also whoever that was on that Celibate song started off sounding odd and then he just went the f*** off

Not exactly CDQ but not low quality either. More like 2000’s mixtape quality. You can still listen to it and enjoy it

did you listen yet? it’s worth it in case some of these tracks don’t make it onto the album
at least listen to the song at about 8:20 in the video. the grimy beat sounds like something you’d play to break into and rob your own house

Quality is definitely alright and there were a lot of low quality tapes in the 2000s and overall issues with sound quality
All that said...

MFs would have gone nuts if tapes back then were consistently this quality

Also he went on IG live again two weeks ago and played the album again (no one seemed to have recorded much from it) but it was the same tracks in the same order so I’d bet it’s the final tracklist

He said in his episode of The Cave that he was basically done making songs to get people hyped, he said he’s too old for that and is gonna deliver more of like a Mobb Deep vibe for now on. He’s definitely nailing that vibe imo. I always preferred him on boom bap adjacent beats anyways (don’t know what else to call that sound).
But that’s not to say I don’t wanna hear some crazy s***. That track Winter proves he’s still got it in that department lol

Mid 2000’s mixtapes were wild though. Limewire and Frostwire got me through Jr. high
