Not here for homelessness hate. A ton of my students y'all age are homeless and are only taken in to our program because of state funding. Lots of terrific, hard working people with potential just got f***ed over because their parents died or they got hooked on something.
wait ya the tweet deceptive as hell "the objection wasn't to the build, but the affordable housing component"
yeah because whether or not the developers would build was never up for question it's happening regardless of the community's opinion. this TMZ style writing sucks ass
so what is the real issue, I'm kinda confused and everybody talking in circles
he was okay with the housing but not the fact that it was affordable none of these folks are on our side
affordable housing is code for low income housing.
300k starting price is a good middle class house cost.
Side note. TI is doing comedy now. Lmao he thinks he’s on the level of actual comedians.
“I’ve been doin comedy for 3 weeks”

from what i read, ppl in the community opposed to the idea entirely didn't think the land was suitable for building on cus it was previously a dump. so they had environmental concerns n maybe concerns bout the quality of the build. that s*** didn't matter because the developers are basically gonna build on the land regardless cus property rights and the community doesn't have a say in that. i think the ppl opposed to developing that site entirely are trying to reject the developer's offers until they can get to a point where they just back out of the deal, but that's just my speculation.
re: multi-housing vs single family housing, someone in the 2nd meeting apparently said that most people looking for housing are looking for single-family housing and schools n s*** like that.
so perhaps there are 3 camps? 1 approves of the developers' ideas, 1 who wants single-family homes and not multi-homes, and 1 who doesn't want that site to be built on
in any case, the framing is disingenuous in reference to chappelle. like in the post u replied to, there wasn't a choice between "build or no build", so to say that chappelle rejected multi-homes yet is fine with single-homes is just Headline reporting bc he appears to be on the side of not building at all, considering that the developers don't even seem to be very pro-affordable-housing to begin with. they want that option bc multi-home units will get em more money, but someone from their team literally stated that they aren't there to build affordable housing to begin with, so i'm pretty sure they were just trying to maximize the money they would receive. my speculation again, but I don't think chappelle would threaten taking his money outta the project in the name of only single-family homes when there was already a large amount of community members that agreed that if the choice is between multi-homes and single-homes, single-homes were preferable

What is your profession?
then share your house with homeless people if you care so much about everyone having a house and not seeing your house as a commodity
if I invested in something I'm doing everything I can for it not to lose value
y'all deadass just be saying dumb s***
bro you have a good heart, but this is not it, the system is f***ed but the best way to fight it is to know how to maneuver in it, then once inside we can chose how to help
lmaoooo it keeps getting worse
How the f*** do you listen to Sticks and Stones and think this nigga is a liberal in any way?
Even liberals don't want low income housing next to them.

I'm a high school English teacher that works in conjunction with the Job Corps via an independent charter. Mostly I teach HS dropouts and students with a record, some special education, etc.
Legit love my job, much rather be doing this than working for a magnet or prep school that won't let me be myself.
I can finally get this off my chest - I seen this nigga live and he was kinda trash
This nigga did an Oscar Pistorious impersonation but he sounded German

So why is the headline framing it like they were lmao wtf
it aint even about "poor people"
its about dramatically decreasing the property value of the houses already there
if I bought my house knowing its in a well-off suburb yeah im gonna be pissed if you build affordable housing near it
That's f***ed up still morally 😭😭😭 housing is f***ing expensive already for most people in America. It's only getting worse rn

na my fault i didnt explain that well enuf; i didnt mean it like the developers had no intention of doing so. they did have that intention when they tried to rezone the area to allow for multi-homes instead of just single-homes, which is how the area is currently zoned. the guy who said "we aren't here to build affordable housing" was trying to appeal to the community that was rejecting their ideas; his full quote was something like "we aren't here to solve the affordable housing problem we're here to build homes n contribute to the community's goals"
so they did have that intention, but imo i think it was cus it was part of the package that allowed them to get more money, n they at least claimed they had no issue with not building AH and instead building single-family s***
