Brothers should’ve known better
episode 5 needed more Wayne Jenkins
Season finale looks like is when they finally interview him
crazy story...wish it had went a few more episodes tbh but wrapped up pretty well explaining what happened to most of them
Just started this yesterday on Ep 2 now.
This is good as expected but man is it depressing, granted I already know s*** like this happens but it's never easy to watch.
Question about the Suitor thing
did he really plant the d\*\*\*\* or he just didn’t want to snitch?
And why Jenkins so insistent on bringing that case up and saying he didn’t do it? he wants Suitor to go down with him? Was he jealous he moved away from street clothes work?

I think Suitor thought he was f\*\*\*ed because of the way Jenkin's had no responsibility in the way they played it out

Damn that’s so f***ed up

he didn't plant the d\*\*\*\* but he DID take stolen money...they even say "that's enough" for a cop to lose his job, possibly get jailtime, and even lose his family or at least his family's respect...in the end he just didn't want to take the risk of his name being thrown in with the others...some people close to Suitor apparently were getting on Simon's case last night on twitter for even suggesting Suitor's death could have been a suicide (he just tells you what the official cause was put down as but also what the independent investigation ruled...doesn't say one way or another which is the truth and doesn't blatantly show Suitor shoot himself or anything so idk what they're tripping over)...I haven't read all the details about that investigation or anything but you would think if a proper investigation was done they could determine how many rounds Suitor should have had in his gun vs how many were fired vs how many other casings if any were found on the scene and the fact that he was still holding his radio when supposedly trying to fire on the suspect is definitely sus
Simon beefing with Suiter's lawyer on Twitter Seems like that was quite a controversial decision on how they did that scene. Didn't know much about the case myself but dude's family and friends ain't been happy. I think this is actually the guy Sean was texting in the episode
I don't see the value in killing Suiter tho. He was joining a long list of cops/defendents cooperating, wasn't a target of the investigation and it seems like these defendants were beyond f***ed already
Did any of the guys benefit from Suiter not testifying? It seems to me like they got the exact same sentences they would have regardless. I would understand more if he was the ONE person about to rat everyone out but that's not the case here. There were multiple full cooperations and guilty pleas which would automatically ruin everyone else's chance in trail.
Loved the way they handled the scene itself tho. It felt like it was a real toss up until they informed the context. Def gonna look into this more and check that doc out
I wasn’t aware of this HBO documentary, thank you for sharing!
I’ve been absolutely hooked on this mini series and each individual micro backstories of all of the officers. Imo this will be the #1 episodic this year! You should give a listen to this podcast called The Watch…. the hosts are interviewing George Pelecanos. Great discussion so far
Wait I heard this is actually directly tied to the wire other than just David Simon?
Like the show references the wire?

It has several former cast members and may give off similar vibes but otherwise this is quite a different show.
It’s not fictional it’s based on events that happened in Baltimore over the past couple decades, more specifically in the last 5-6 years with an investigation into criminal activity amongst the force
Jenkins arc was some poetic s***. The briefing scene at the end is especially sobering. Holy s***, I did NOT expect Sean Suiter to go in that direction, f***ed up

The show heavily implies that he deleted himself

just listened
yeah they portrayed the Suiter situation correctly with Pelecanos confirming they have the real camera footage of the exact moments shown in the show
great interview
