It’s borderline some blaxploitation s*** and borders on parody. Being a street nigga is a fantasy to him and he happens to have the money to act it out. Similar to Ja morant or Mikey Williams

    Pretty much this

Putting a battery in the back of wannabe flunkies

    It’s a stupid nigga anthem

Well let’s put our thinking caps on for a second

Drake who is currently the biggest rapper in the world and has a documented history of having a solid upbringing and good behavior (not so much as a mugshot out there) puts out a song where’s he’s rabidly glorifying senseless violence for pretty much no reason at all while also featuring his kid on the track

    Pretty bad don’t you think?

Do you also apply those standards to other rappers? You can only rap about stuff you've done? Not many mainstream acts you can enjoy if this is the case.

I don't mind the song, it's fun. Not one of his best or anything special but it's not bad.

When you really think about it what’s the difference between him and 6ix9ine?

6ix9ine can at least fall back on the excuse that he was a young man trying to make it out the hood. Drake turned 35 and started cripping in his music for a rap image

    mr get dough

    No literally

The part his son did was so fun and wholesome

Daylight really has a terrible energy for NO REASON like i understand if that was his life or even if it was what he needed to do to sell records

But neither is the case for Drake so the song is just awful vibes for no reason, the entire song is just about people getting shot

FATD is a very interesting album that says a lot about drake as a person. i've never felt comfortable bunching it with views, scorpion, and CLB. it is extremely depressing and negative when you view it beyond a surface level, he sounds sad and drunk on the whole thing and is blatantly going through a midlife crisis.

i think it'll be seen as one of the most important drake albums when all is said and done, for better and for worse.

Suspension of disbelief bro. Once an artist breaks that it’s a wrap for you in my book. Daylight is literally so unbelievable and if it is true it’s sad bc he’s way too famous for the s*** HE just suggested

    I feel the same way

Like I know Drake has been making albums this way for a long time but I do not listen to Views and hear a negative person like at all, and Scorpion made sense bc it was during the middle of a beef

But FAT D was just straight bad vibes imo, like the energy Drake was giving was just different

Yes it’s worse. Ratchet Happy Birthday sounds like a song from the same artist that made every track he’s done before that

Could barely recognize dude on Daylight nigga sounded unhinged

Yea daylight that song you record cause you hype off influence but after it goes away just look at yourself like “man wtf am I talking about? This isn’t me” lmaoo

That’s crazy. Drake and Kanye both took a similar turn in the 2020s with the tough guy persona stuff. Would’ve never guessed it considering they were the pioneers for being vulnerable in your raps
