I know that in comics there are always different iterations of the same character running concurrently in different universes, but there’s something about the medium of film that I don’t think that concept translates well to. Unless the various iterations are DRASTICALLY different so the reason for the variety is actually earned, but then again I don’t see DC actually doing anything too left field with the character that would serve the purpose of having multiple concurrent franchises.

Not to mention the countless other great heroes that DC has that they could instead be making stories about, but they would rather milk their cash cow dry by pooling millions of dollars into multiple interpretations of him when that money and budget could be going towards other characters.

I love Batman but I just feel like too much is too much and there are other unknown characters that could become household names if adapted correctly.

I agree though it will be weird if the DCEU Batman is just as dark and realistic as Robert Pattinson’s. Seems like they should utilize the separate universes to show different versions of the characters. Let Matt Reeves have the super dark and realistic Batman, let the DCEU take on the fantasy/sci-fi elements

I f*** with it. Normalizing this will allow directors to make more unique movies without having to worry about the tone and continuity of the DCEU. They can use dimensional shake ups to bring the best elements together if they wanted to. We get more movies instead of being stuck with a s***ty iteration indefinitely.

And if it’s successful, maybe we’ll see Marvel allowing directors to take more risks on some of their characters as well for standalone movies that don’t have to bend to the MCU plot lines.

They plan on separating the stories between Earth 1 and Earth 2:
“That's not all that WB has planned for DC, as the studio will begin dipping its toes into multiple timelines going forward. After experimenting with more standalone stories like Joker, DC will have multiple universes running concurrently, with Wonder Woman existing Earth 1, while Pattinson's take on Batman will belong to Earth 2. That Batman will not belong to the DCEU, which will have its own Batman saga running concurrently.”

This is so f***ing lame it’s not even funny. Unless we talking Batman beyond, there is no reason to even attempt this. WW84 aside, you have finally turned a corner. You are on the cusp of releasing what will undoubtedly be your best film to date and you are about to squander it by making another needless attempt to turn yourself into marvel. Bruh, for the love of god and all that is holy, please, just make good movies.

Nah, I want Burton on Batman Beyond. Burton using the iconic aesthetic from the first 2 films for a cyberpunk Batman movie would be too insane to pass on. It would match well with the tone Reeves is establishing.
