watched Shazam 2 on opening day. actually the definition of complete mid. so mid that it's ass. it's not worth talking about, watching, or remembering.

Zachary Levi might've put on a top 3 worst comic book character performance in that movie.

that being said I hope David F Sandberg gets more work that movie was a misfire but i like him

First actually had a direction and was a soft adaptation of a pretty good recent origin Geoff Johns wrote about 10 years ago

The 2nd is just a dumpster fire. They didn't really know what to do. That was the time to have Black Adam be the villain but nope Johnson needed a whole movie where he was also very directionless with his character. And now we're left with 3 Shazam related films and not one blatantly obvious Shazam vs Adam moment

Saw this movie on discount Tuesday lol. It was a really fun and enjoyable movie, definitely my favorite out of the final dcu movies that have been coming out in the past year. It wasnt groundbreaking but I like the family aspects and hispanic culture and all of the cast were fun and I'm happy Blue Beetle is sticking around.

Side note and this might be hyperbole but I think WB/DC/ and James Gunn might have found their Tom Holland in Xolo. Buddy's got star potential, is young and he's a fun leading man. He's what WB thought they were getting with Ezra Miller after years of WB trying to make them a star for like ten years. And Xolo isn't batshit crazy so that's a plus too.

If Blue Beetle is able to make just as much or even more money than The Flash at the box office, when The Flash was supposed to be one of the biggest hits of summer :​

Cinema day is going to help this movie a lot

I can’t remember if there’s a date set for this to come to streaming. Don’t want to watch it on sites because I’m not sure if some of the Spanish dialogue is supposed to be translated

The argument that this feels like a “TV movie” is something I can’t completely deny but it was still dope and fun tbh

We know Gunn already said he’d be back but do you think they’ll try a proper Blue Beetle 2 even if it flopped or is he gonna be demoted to mostly team ups

good word of mouth on the first and better DC public perception in a few years could carry a Blue Beetle 2 to higher success than the first

or it could be a Shazam 2 and absolutely no one cares at that point
