Between COVID,Johnathan Majors and Chadwicks death alot of this Phase got f***ed by outside forces so I'm gonna use the next Phase as a real mark as to what things are like over there quality wise.
An event of actual consequence happening
Multiverse makes everything irrelevant because they can just rewrite it in a later film
What's an actual event of consequence tho? It's a Deadpool movie that's not really what he does I mean mean was kind of the whole point.
Him wanting to be Marvel Jesus and then it being like yea nah ur just Deadpool
I think The Flash really put a stain on the multiverse aspect plus everyone has been doing it.
But Marvel hasn’t put out a really bad multiverse based show or movie. Loki, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, this, all good in my book
The stuff that’s been not good or lacking has been the stuff that hasn’t dealt with the multiverse like Secret Invasion (GARBAGE) and She-Hulk (hit and miss)
lol wait I forgot about Quantumania but then again that wasn’t really multiverse multiverse it just involved a multiversal villain who got stopped.
The gambit jokes had me crying , probably the funniest gag to me
The "You never liked me" joke from Deadpool to Blade in reference to their fued was great that whole trio was killing me

I’d say Multiverse of Madness was underwhelming more than anything.
The Marvels had multiverse elements too and that was a disaster.
Quantumania was also abysmal
Also idk if this a safe space but that mask for wolverine sucked

I wouldn’t say The Marvels was heavy with it though. Like the ending has Monica get sent to Earth-10005 but that’s it. At its core it’s another cosmic adventure.
The ones I mentioned use the Multiverse as a main driving point of the story.

Something that actually matters to the MCU? Nothing that happened in this movie outside of the 18 reminders that Deadpool is joining the MCU matters at all moving forward

This isn’t really an MCU movie though. It technically is, but thematically it really isn’t.
It’s less “Deadpool joins the MCU” and moreso “Deadpool sends off the Fox Marvel films”
Deadpool 4 will most likely be the first legit “Deadpool in the MCU” film

I agree with that, but it was billed as being important to the next stage of the MCU and I don't think it is

Yeah I don’t agree with that, I’m not sure why some reactions were saying that it sets up the MCU moving forward because it really doesn’t at all. It leaves the MCU in pretty much the same place it was beforehand.
Deadpool & Wolverine is definitely the finale of the Deadpool trilogy and the send-off to Fox Marvel

That's really my main problem tbh. Like standalone Deadpool movies just being 2 hour raunchy joke and violence fests, fine! but if it's going to be "MCU" then I need something to happen that actually matters otherwise it's a complete waste of time
I agree with that, but it was billed as being important to the next stage of the MCU and I don't think it is
Who was doing that billing though? Marvel or the people who watched the first 40 minutes a week ago?
I don’t recall Marvel making this seem like this is going to change everything. They were doing that with Ant-Man lmao

I mean this is only really an MCU film because they legally own the rights to the character now. But creatively through and through it’s just the final entry of the Deadpool trilogy

If you go into a Ryan Reynolds comedy film where he cast Brad Pitt in a cameo just to die in the last one expecting him to have big impact you messed up.

Exactly, Marvel never really set this up like that. That was mostly the fan theories and the first reactions
The movie sold cameos and Wolverine and delivered but I don't think it was tryna sell more

That's fine, I totally understand why people like it it just wasn't for me
Didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first two

i mean the TVA intervention literally sets up secret wars lmao
