Wooow this is so nice, I only knew him from Testing and this is the first albul of his I listened to
This is great I love the lowkey relaxed vibe and the spoken vocals
Definitely gonna check out Black Metal 1 and some other albums too
dean blunt is simultaneously easy listening and super super intricate
Yeah I definitely got that I love that kind of stuff
in one of his 2 most recent interviews he mentions it :
that's so hard, makes sense after their fantastic collab EP last year. Vegyn also exec produced the solo debut project by John Glacier who appeared on that EP too, dropping at the end of the month. One of my most anticipated releases oty Vegyn is absolutely killing it lately
rly need full credits, I hear Mica Levi did the strings too

BM1 is a bit more experimental but at the same time got even more catchy tracks tbh, classic album. Be sure to check out his rap alias Babyfather too and some smaller projects, pretty much everything this man touches is gold

I think I did heard some babyfather before because they worked ith Arca
i really wanna bridge the gaps between the experimental deteriorating electronic sound of hype williams and the folkier joanne stuff

Black Is Beautiful & The Attitude Era.
First Black Metal album & The Redeemer are both pretty good too.
I’d say this feels like it’s on par with black metal honestly, but it only just came out, maybe doesn’t have ‘edge’ but has its own magnetism
never listened to his music
should i start with the new album or elsewhere?
Yeah, it’s pretty accessible. If you like Black Metal 2 check the first Black Metal and The Redeemer after.
never heard a single Dean Blunt song in my life beofre this project, but i've always been aware of him
I enjoyed this album, but nothing stood out outside of the instrumentals (if he produces all his own stuff then I understand the hype)
the best parts were when someone else was singing over the beats, or when he was singing instead of rapping (I really loved 'the rot')
I'm still interested in checking out his other music, but i'm not a fan of his rapping on this
