luckily the stop in St. Pete wasn't so bad, but i was preparing for the worst. there's a lot of chronically online people who only step out of their house just to attend concerts, and they're the most insufferable people imaginable

I’ve noticed the sense of humor of lot of people like 20 and under rn is just about being as antisocial as possible to purposely annoy other people, and the more you bother others the funnier it is

It’s purposely immature just like wrapped in layers of irony

But I feel really bad for artists who put in work to make good music they’re passionate about only to realize their fan base is a bunch of kids who take their music as a joke and photo op to go viral

Stan Culture + Social Media have created some of the worst fans of all time. Bands have always had superfans but they have always been kinda rare and looked at as a bit weird lol even they didn't do stuff like this.

Stan culture has given these kids a strange sense of ownership over the Artist that we've never seen before. There is a growing sense of " I paid for a ticket I can do whatever I want". I've been going to shows for 15 year and have never seen anything like it.

Social Media has turned a lot of shows into a best costume / gag contest. People wearing the most ridiculous s*** they can find and doing the most ridiculous s*** they can think of for attention when the focus should be the band.

I saw them in 2017 or 2018, one of those years but it was an amazing show. I’m glad the crowd wasn’t retαrded then.

I despise what these kids do to like any slightly alternative fanbase and the community they build that thinks that s*** is funny and enables it like go somewhere else no one wants u

This problem extends beyond hip hop fanbases if you ask me. Sometimes it feels like you can’t have a genuine conversation with some people. This irony thing has gone too far.

The fact that Fantano has seen Death Grips in concert multiple times and has had nothing but highly favorable reviews about their live shows with this added context is interesting...

For me at least, it definitely wasn’t like this. The whole pit was moshing, exactly how you’d want a mosh pit to go. People were focused on and enjoying the music rather than pulling bullshit bits. I was with a friend who’s on the shorter side and he got knocked over. Immediately, everyone around him stopped and helped him get back up, then started up again. It left an impression on me. Who knows what these dumbass kids are on now.
