This is series 3 if you are joining us, here is Series 1 & 2
started with the soundtracks -
ktt2.com/west-coast-wednesdays-death-row-records-reup-series-1-the-32538250
and then covered Death Row records Snoop
ktt2.com/death-row-records-catalog-reup-series-2-snoop-dogg-lps-more-32538943
And you are joining us on Drop 3 of this Re-up series of mainly Death Row projects that were wiped away by the new ownership temporarily. Most of this is Daz and Kurupt material. There are some tracks on 2 compilations that veer away from it. BUT this just focuses the core 3 mostly.
I find it interesting that a loooot of people don’t know that 2 people did the majority of Death Row material for DPG & provided a bit for other related Death Row artists. The first thing that should be acknowledged is the depth of the racks of keyboard sounds these mf’s used. It’s crazy
So many different keyboard/synth sounds that sound so ill on speakers or headphones. A big reason of that is because of Priest Brooks- who previously was a keyboardist for Dr Dre. Most people have no idea who he is. But his credit list is impressive. He & DAZ are both accomplished producers and they took the Moog and a***og synths to a different level. The other thing that separated them is like Quik they did the melodic approach with the live musician feel. The ears of this duo is impeccable. Basslines & drum sounds are on point as well.
Daz really is one of the best rappers - his energy and flow is on point. ( we all know Kurupt's ability) Now Soopa? He could crush a lot of people just on attitude alone. But his ability is a rapper - people need to take a second look.
Here’s some samples:
Some day soon I'm going to put together a comprehensive soopafly production anthology.
But for now, wait for Series #4 next week. Who will it be? that's a good question. You will have to wait
Good job keeping that Death Row feeling alive OP
The most ICONIC rap label in history of the genre
Hate this NFT bullshit, Snoop a trick for getting some of these classic albums off streaming
If west coast gangsta rap ain't your thing.
new drop tomorrow
I can't tell you what it is because this would spoil the surprise.
Daz on the beat
Did you ever hear soopa whoopty lp? this was a death row lp that daz liberated because they kept it shelved for a while
The energy on this and the fact he could flow like this
the same duo could do a smooth melodic beat
like this
this gives you an idea of the left brain right brain of Soopa and Daz
it’s funny how very few people have no clue this is a death row release but daz bootlegged it & sold it to retail
it’s hard to tell what daz does or what soopa does because they are equally talented both raised in the churches
but i’m always surprised how most people aren’t aware in the music world of contributions of daz and soopafly still to this day

At least speaking between Soopa and Daz, Soopa did a lot of the melodies on those beats.
He ghost produced a lot on the Dogg Pound album.
more otw - we will get to nathan andre danny amaru some of these are going to be a bit difficult exactly when or where some of this material was recorded at death row era or not but it will be heralding them for their artistry 😎

Always dig these threads man but I can't seem to actually download this set of links - the downloads start, then after a bit they just say 'files not found' or something to that effect.
Not asking for reups or anything but I am curious as to what you're using for the uploads

@vox @Broswisskey @LegendShkreli
Daz is crazy for that. wouldn't have this stuff if he didn't steal them master tapes right?
@Bad_Finger_Boogie i wonder how long it’s been flagged. my apologies, people. this is the 4th takedown i have had. i’ll fix it 😳

Death row really had some of the best talent in 90s

i just tried it and it started downloading immediately. I don’t think it was flagged, maybe mf put a restriction in your region. 😳
if it doesn’t work, i will upload it somewhere else i can load it to archived dot org site
But the reason i use mf is the takedowns are so few & it’s easiest for mobile 😎
