I do think it's s***ty considering how much Hayter had done for the franchise. Stefanie Joosten (Quiet in MGSV) was also ghosted by Kojima once he was able to get Lea Seydoux for Fragile. And it's kinda rude to ghost them/not talk to them directly; but that's also very common in the industry and not Kojima exclusive the way people like to assume.

It's also not a crazy move for your game to try and get big names to play your characters to give it more recognition and appeal industry-wide. People like to criticize his "love of celebs" but it's also like....literally who would turn down Kiefer Sutherland or Lea Seydoux or Norman Reedus

The fans of metal gear did not care about Sutherland lol. That was Kojima personal love of celebs thing, like you said yeah. The fans wanted hayter as a no brainer, which is why that decision got the backlash it got. Not saying you aren't right, just saying it was a bad decision imo. Certain people you just don't replace.

I fully agree with you. But Kojima has also wanted a film action here to voice/mo-cap Snake since his inception.
