It’s actually my 2nd favorite movie of all time period.
I feel like I can see the genius of this movie more than even Tarantino himself (who has self-proclaimed that it’s indeed his worst film). I can talk for hours about how every little tiny decision made was absolutely phenomenal, and I can break it down to its core. It’s just so hard for me to believe that virtually no one else can see what I see.
Is there anyone on this forum who even remotely shares this opinion? Why is this movie s*** on so much?
I remember watching it not realizing it was a movie from 2000. I thought it came out in the 80s or something.
When it came out I thought it was just okay and remember liking Planet Terror more. I rewatched Death Proof and it aged pretty well the last chase sequence is really underrated as one of the best tarantino scenes
If Deathproof starred men only every filmbro would call it top 3 tarantino, no doubt.

Holy s*** I never thought about it this way. I could get down with this theory.

Absolutely
It's neither his best or worst to me. I like it but it's a little lightweight imo. The fact that the characters change midway through doesn't help either.

the entire feminist premise would be gone though.

Trying to imagine the exact same film with all the women replaced with men is absolutely hilarious

???
That’s one of the best qualities of that movie tho. It’s the whole point of it, actually.
It’s duality, a character study in which you watch two groups of girls (who seem similar at first glance) handle the same situation in two very different ways.
movie was boring asf
Sorry man but you finding it boring is definitely not the movie’s fault lol.
Did you want more explosions or something? Tf...
I watched it for the first time on that Grindhouse special he did with Robert Rodriguez
I think it made me love it more idk
got around watching the movie alone & there was more scenes in it & i was like o wow ! overall loved it. will watch it again don't understand the hate it gets.
$30 million movie That’s looks Like it was shot for $1 million. It’s fun but it’s not his best unless you’re a hipster.
