Deathproof is highly underrated. Of the two Grindhouse movies that were meant to be exploitation movies, Deathproof did a better job in that aspect. Stuntman Mike is one of my favorite Tarantino villains and I would love to see a movie about him. I think it’s better than Hateful Eight but not as good Jackie Brown. It’s definitely low tier Tarantino though but even a low tier Tarantino movie is still a great movie.
just now catching this but i love the movie and it inspired a song and video i put out 🤷🏾♂️

I loved everything about this movie. It’s not my favorite of his because he just has too many classics, but I don’t get the hate either bro. This is a movie about a stunt man who stalks his victims, gets to know them and then kills them by crashing his car into their cars... The concept alone is simply genius. Also his dialogue really shines with this one along with the music as always with his films.
Grind house was great in my opinion, but I think ppl just did not understand the concept and couldn’t take the runtime. If Death Proof were released on its own I think people’s perception of it would be different.
The ending of Death Proof is one of the most thrilling moments in all of cinema. Tarantino created a truly classic car chase sequence, quite possibly the best of all time.
I remember seeing Grindhouse in theaters, an experience which consisted of having to slog through the absolute flaming s*** pile of Planet Terror for close to two hours (when you include previews and intermission)
If only Death Proof had played first, I would have left in a rush like Stuntman Mike’s Dodge Charger barreling down a highway.
Death Proof initially not being marketed as a standalone feature while being coupled with such an idiotic, inferior film as Planet Terror is what ruined its reception.
It is today, however, generally well-liked, with the car chase sequence rightfully considered among the best things Quentin’s ever done.
I know quite a few people who think this
