Why are you so condescending about this, you realize many people spend 10k modifying their cars right? That's on the low end too for performance.

Building a Windsor 302 alone costs probably 7k or 9k when said and done.

People spend money on audio systems, and if you go on photography forums people spend ridiculous money on lenses and cameras they don't even use. People on KTT probably have 7k or 8k in their wardrobe alone.

I was very close to buying a mustang and modifying it, but realized how selfish and one dimensional one that is.

Making good memories with family and friends while putting my craft to it's full potential seems worthwhile to me.

I'm sure you're already aware, but a lotta places in SE VA have water damage. Check flood maps before committing to anything. When I was looking to rent I saw a bunch of houses were listed at decent prices (like under 150k) but sat in the middle of a flood plain.

yeah man, just Google the flood map for your area I'm good but a few blocks away it floods into people's yards. If there's a bad storm it can flood even worse.
