Funded the sequel all on your own
Enemy, Arrival are both better than 2049 to me
(og Blade Runner a top 3 movie to me and 2049 doesn’t touch it)
Been needing to rewatch Sicario, maybe I’ll do that tonight
Matrix 4 what I intend to fund . Imma see this once for Backlava. Probably matinee

OG BR ain’t touching 2049 sorry not sorry
2049 is a complete rehash
Preferring it would be like preferring Force Awakens over New Hope

Ok this the dumbest f***ing post i have seen in a hot min.
There is nothing new that 2049 brings to the table
It’s just flashy
This is profoundly stupid

not wrong. great story. great visuals. but yea. BR offers an interesting look at Robots and the potential of them and what it could look like and mean. 2049 just took it and said yea but those robots may also be able to maybe have babies. still a great movie none the less absolutely love it. but doesn’t bring anything new to the table no you’re correct
edit: i also debatably like Gosling’s character more than Fords. the issue with 2049 is that there isn’t a single “villain” that matches Roy Batty.
Is this a movie you might want to rewatch the next day? I've had a ticket to go alone Thursday for a while but got invited to a screening Friday so I'm wondering if I should hit both or refund my Thursday ticket. I don't want to burn it out

So correct about Roy
Yeah I fully enjoyed 2049 it just loses some points from me because the original is such a classic.

That’s the thing though Batty is by far the highlight of OG BR IMO. Take him out and the rest of the replicants outside of Rachel aren’t memorable. 2049 isn’t trying to match that. Instead they modeled their villains after the classic film noir archetype where the main boss has an enforcer.
Wallace and Luv are more comparable to Whit & Joe from Out Of The Past
Mr Brown & Fante from The Big Combo and
Gutman & Wilmer from Maltese Falcon than Roy.
Plus I feel like BR 2049 has more of a mystery to be solved than Blade Runner.
I’m actually confused as to when people say 2049 is a rehash of BR? Their plots are completely different, only thing comparable is the aesthetic and even then Blade Runner itself took a lot of the cyberpunk aesthetic from Jean Girauds Long Tomorrow comic book series.

I’ll let @Backlava answer this
Mine says 41.5 x 76.0 ft
It’s fake?
Almost certainly. A lot of imax theaters are “digital imax” which is technically the fake imax. The real deal is the one that uses 70mm and those tend to be well over 50 feet in height. But 41.5 x 76 ft isn’t bad at all. That website is more of a guide to see how big the imax screens near you are. For example, closest imax screen to me is 28 x 47 ft
