the best soundtracks of the last 10 years were made by musicians who also made relevant music outside of film and it's less and less about "cinematic" composers like Hannes, who just make very dramatic cheaply emotionally controlling bs

yeah people are dumb af trying to meme about peoples criticisms with Dune being that they want neon colors.
Many of us praise the look of Sicario which has a very drab and not colorful look either but just one look at that film and you can see how superior Deakins is in every way with how high contrast and clean he makes his images look compared to the more artificial and dull imagery present in the Dune trailer.
