How are the movies? Got hyped from the trailer and ordered the first book
There’s only one movie and it’s really not that good
yeah people are dumb af trying to meme about peoples criticisms with Dune being that they want neon colors.
Many of us praise the look of Sicario which has a very drab and not colorful look either but just one look at that film and you can see how superior Deakins is in every way with how high contrast and clean he makes his images look compared to the more artificial and dull imagery present in the Dune trailer.
1917, by your boy, was s*** and it had great cinematography. I rather watch a film with a great story/acting etc than a pretty film like 1917 with 0 substance.
Then imagine
I imagine therefore I am
Man who would have thought that niggas would be losing their s*** over the cinematography, of all things
This looks very safe and bland tbh
Lynch already went full not safe and not bland and people still b**** so what did you expect

Its because they cant criticize anything else and even that looks amazing, its just nitpicking at this point

SAD! - Donald Trump
Y’all want that yellow/orange filter Hollywood uses for when the film takes place in Mexico then?
You're still insisting on being hyperbolic, lol.

I mean I never understood why they chose Villeneuve to make this when Dune really doesn't seem to be a universe that much aligned with his vision

??? What would YOU say is HIS vision is then?

Idk to me his directing style is very cold and robotic, I don't think it fits dune that well, it was fire for Blade Runner but I don't see it working too well here
would rather imagine what Jodorowsky’s Dune would look like
that storyboard needs to get published fr. Could possibly be animated too, like in the doc
this will not be that film for sure but that's not a surprise of course, that film could've only happened in the 70s tbh

Because he did well with the other 80s sci fi reboot
For those saying it’s bland, please give me a frame of reference for a movie that takes place in primarily an arid desert location, that you would prefer this mimicked. Lawrence of Arabia?

From what I heard and read was very ambitious for a director only made low budget films. Everything he visioned for was equally strange and other-worldly. I agree it should be animated though!

Dune by David Lynch
@BaroudeurFlipFlop
Oh yeah let's compare the cgi effects of two movies 36 years apart, no s*** they look better in the 2020 one
I may also add that the effect they used here is very bland and safe, wow so impressive, blue hue around the characters
Imagine not having thuggerbaby on ignore
