Even industry insiders weren’t predicting it to do Oppenheimer numbers
But Dune and Oppenheimer succeeding are a great sign for the future of cinema
Sadly it probably won’t reach the heights of Oppy cause that had the advantage of a summer release
But I see this settling in the 600-700 ww range and to me that’s incredible

Nah I don’t think its final numbers will reach Oppy levels either tbh. That movie definitely dropped at the perfect time
Yea this will make around 700 million I’m sure. But that’s still easily Denis’ biggest numbers and no one expected Dune to do that much . Regardless this film will be seen as a massive success

Something that this film improved heavily on is not retaining the first films straight forward, serious tone and I appreciated the moments of levity and humor throughout the film. Really helps it when it comes to standing the test of time. The tone felt consistent throughout while being able to allow moments to breathe and ease the tension

I picked up a Brian Herbert Dune book from the library yesterday. I'm 30 pages in but I'm giving up
