Not obsessed but I definitely enjoyed it, from a visual perspective. I also like the story but I'm curious where it all goes
Not knowing a single thing about Dune going in and I was just marveling at the film the entire time
It just looks awesome in general and the story keeps you interested cause it keeps you wanting to know more about that world

That's pretty Villenuve
People who are obsessed with Part 1 please tell me why
Had no idea going in but honestly the world building looks incredible.
man basically said Nazi aesthetics are cool
Nah I said the Hark would have too much drip. Extrapolate brother

Tbh that's how a lot of star wars fans get around it
might as well wait for the movie at this point
it might enhance the reading process if you watch the movie first
Maybe. I'll be honest, the story in the first half of the book felt a bit underwhelming to me.

yeah that's what i've mostly seen on the internet too. that it really picks up in the second half and it's the better part of the book and movie im assuming

I think pretty much everyone feels this way, that it drags in the beginning. The second half of the book is amazing so hopefully Part 2 can reflect that as well, bc it’s a fantastic ride.

Finished up Heretics of Dune reread (audio book), I really hope they’re able to continue the films, for the full series. Need to see Miles Teg in action
But really the one I need to see… The God Emperor
"I SEE A HOLY WAR SPREADING ACROSS THE UNIVERSE LIKE UNQUENCHABLE FIRE. A WARRIOR RELIGION THAT WAVES THE ATREIDES BANNER IN MY FATHER'S NAME. FANATICAL LEGIONS WORSHIPPING AT THE SHRINE OF MY FATHER'S SKULL. A WAR IN MY NAME! EVERYONE'S SHOUTING MY NAME."
In Florence's case yeah but I'm not sure about the other 3
Been rereading the first book, probably gonna go through the series again, even though I literally just did that a month ago
But yea this reread making me wish this was a series instead of a movie tbh. There’s so many “little” things that are left out, or given to other characters that kinda carry big implications further down the line. There’s also a greater emphasis on Paul’s relationships with each of his mentors, Gurney, Thufir, Yueh, and Duncan. Like the book really gives you insight into the turmoil the Doctor felt in committing his betrayal of the Atreides to the Harkonnens.
Still think the movie did an excellent job, but this series is too dense to be in a movie format. Unless Denis gonna give us an ultimate 4-5 hour cut, and even then it’d still miss a lot of stuff.
I haven’t read the Foundation books yet, but I thought the first season on Apple TV was great. Really makes me wish Dune got the same treatment.
