I’ve seen some people in here happy that he’s just making Bangers, and that’s great and all. But it does come off a bit one dimensional. And I get it, this project is for the people that really love that Memphis sound, and where Denzel started. But for me, it’s like he’s not that artist anymore and he’s grown and progressed since.

And I’m sorry for the day 1s that don’t really like when he artistically ventures into something different. But Melt My Eyez is his best album to me. If you look at this album as a side project after thiat ambitious effort, then it’s cool. It’s not bad in that context at all. If you look at it as his next big follow-up, yeah, it’s disappointing.

But I don’t think that was Denzel’s intention with this album. I think he just wanted to give the people who strictly like him for his hype s***, some bangers to chew on. And next album will be the true follow up to Melt My Eyez.

Melt My Eyez was a 9/10 to me and this is like a 6/10

Honestly I like his bangers more. The way some people here are with Kendrick where they prefer him to not be so conceptual, I feel that way about Denzel. I think he wears it a lot better with his writing and delivery.

I like his bangers too, but I also like when he’s versatile as well.

I think he does both well.
